Makha Bucha Day,
15th day of the waxing moon of the 3rd
lunar month.
The meaning of
the word “Makha Bucha” is an
abbreviation of the word
“Makhapuraṇami Puja” means
worshiping the Buddha on the full moon
day of the 3rd lunar month, which on
this day itself exceeds 4 important
events at the same time, called
“Chaturangkhasannipat” with
the following
meanings.
Chatur means

Ong means part
League means
meeting.
The
miraculous events that occurred in 4
important events at the same time are as
follows:
1. 1,250 monks
traveled to see the Lord Buddha at
Weluwan Mahavihar, Rajgir, Bihar. These
monks dispersed to go on a mission to
spread Buddhism in various places.
2.
These 1,250 monks are all Arahants who
were ordained directly by the Lord
Buddha, called "Ehi Bhikkhu
Upasampada".
3. 1,250 monks
gathered together without an
appointment.
4. Date of meeting
Corresponds to the full moon day of the
month of Magha. (Full moon day in the
middle of the 3rd lunar month) is the
day the Lord Buddha gave a sermon. Which
is the heart of Buddhism is the Ovada
Patimokkha.
